Jo Whalley
Managing Director

I have worked in primary and secondary schools since 2006 as a counsellor/therapeutic play practitioner, initially as part of the NSPCC Lancashire Schools Team and since 2010 as an independent practitioner. During this time I have been involved in a wide range of children’s issues including bullying, abuse, neglect, bereavement and separation. As well as offering counselling to children I have also been able to offer support to their families and school staff who also are affected by what the child is experiencing. I work with other professional agencies that are involved in safeguarding children and attend multi-agency meetings in conjunction with school staff.

Having worked in schools for a significant amount of time I see the value and the progress that children can make from my service. Schools using various methods, such as Boxall profiles, can chart the success and improvement that children make by using counselling or therapeutic play.
